Wesley Day School

is a preschool in Maryville, TN serving children ages 3 to 5. We partner with families to nurture the whole child--academically, socially, emotionally, and physically--within a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

Our developmentally appropriate, age-based curriculum meets children where they are and builds strong foundations in early literacy, math, problem-solving, and social skills while fostering independence and confidence. Our experienced educators prioritize meaningful relationships and individualized support for every child.

Learning is active and enriched through specialty instruction. Children attend daily Music and American Sign Language class and participate in Art enrichment twice weekly, encouraging creativity, communication, fine-motor development, and self-expression. Purposeful play, hands-on exploration, and regular outdoor time further support each child’s growth. On days when outdoor play isn’t possible, WDS offers an indoor gym where children can still move, play, and develop their gross motor skills.

We value open communication and strong partnerships with families and are proud to be a welcoming community where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. We have been a 3-star DHS program for 18 years, with a teacher and teaching assistant in every classroom, allowing us to remain well below DHS maximum ratios.

Wesley Day School operates Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, following the Maryville City Schools calendar, with hours of 9:00–12:00 for 3s and 4s and 9:00–1:00 for Readiness.

I’ve had 4 grandchildren attend WDS . The staff has always been great and went the extra mile to make it safe and educational for the children . Me being an old timer, i appreciate the respect and values that they teach the classes. the programs are very nice for the family members to get to attend. We have sent all three of our boys to Wesley Day School. This means we spent 7 years at the school, three of which I served on the board. I feel like over that time I have gotten to know the school inside and out. It is a fantastic place for a child to have his/her first school experience. Every teacher we had showed a genuine interest in my child. My children were able to get used to a school structure and begin their learning experience in a place that uses playing to learn. Each of my boys did great entering kindergarten because they had come to equate school with enjoyment and learning with fun. I am so thankful for Kathy and all the staff at Wesley Day School.
